Understand first
Who is this for, what do they already know, and what are they afraid of getting wrong? Everything after this is cheaper if this part is right.
About
A designer working across product, brand and print. I get excited about things that feel so natural people don't notice the design — they just enjoy the experience.
I started in graphic design — posters, packaging, dielines, the kind of work where a 2 mm mistake becomes a thousand boxes that will not fold. That taught me to design backwards from how something actually gets made.
Brand work came next: logo systems, colour, and the guidelines that keep an identity intact when a sign fabricator in one city and a print vendor in another are both working from the same PDF. The Regal Group book ran to 39 pages in two languages, and most of what I know about writing clear rules came out of it.
Now most of my time goes to product — trading platforms, AI tools, SaaS dashboards. Different surface, same job: work out who this is for, then decide what they need to understand in the first three seconds and what can wait.
How I work
Who is this for, what do they already know, and what are they afraid of getting wrong? Everything after this is cheaper if this part is right.
I show routes rather than one polished answer, and I say what each one costs. Clients pick better when they can see the trade-off.
Specs, states, dielines, handoff files. The work is not done when it looks good in a deck — it is done when someone else can build it without asking me.
